Mindfulness Modalities

Required:  30 hours of Mindfulness Meditation Training

The Purpose:

At its essence, Open Floor is a moving meditation practice in which we center our full attention on how our bodies are moving, here and now. It's important that Open Floor teachers have personal experience with meditation/mindfulness practice -- which will enable them to lead groups in simple meditation practices both moving and still.

We are aware that we don't know all the meditation teachers you might be working with. If you've studied mindfulness with teachers or modalities not listed below, please describe it to us and help us expand our international list.

Classic Mindfulness training in schools such as:

  • Zen
  • Buddhist
  • Vipassana
  • Against the Stream
  • Shambhala lineage of Chögyam Trungpa

Basic Mindfulness training - with teachers such as:

  • Pema Chodron
  • Thich Nhat Hanh | Plum Village
  • Jon Kabbot Zin – Mindfulness Stress Based Stress Reduction
  • Jack Kornfield, Sharon Salzberg, Mark Coleman
  • Richard Moss
  • Arnaud Desjardins

Self-inquiry (Advaita) - with teachers (or in the lineage of teachers) such as:

  • Ramana Maharshi, Poonjaji, Nisargadatta, Ramesh, Robert Adams
  • Adyashanti, Gangaji, Mooji,Tony Parsons
  • Movement of Being – with Fanny Behrens & Colin Harrison
  • Shamanic meditation practice - with teachers such as Joanna Macy
