The Open Floor Faculty have designed a rich and unique program based on the universal principles of embodiment, psychology, mindfulness and creative self expression common to all healing practices.
Our graduates are taking Open Floor Movement Practice into a wide range of professional fields.
“The Open Floor teacher training has prepared me to introduce embodied movement within corporate settings and organizations of different types such as Google, Piraeus Bank, Quest Holdings, tech conferences and local NGOs with a positive impact. Having worked as a marketing director for large organizations for 15 years, I can directly relate to the challenging nature of these settings. I believe that Open Floor Movement Practice can be applied to any setting and provides a solid map to navigate our human experience. It is a creative and highly engaging way to enhance collaboration, unlock group creativity and support workspace wellbeing.
“I decided to train as an Open Floor teacher because it’s flexible and more accessible for me as a dancer. It feels like a mature practice. There’s a lot of wisdom in the curriculum and I think this comes from the Dynamic Governance model which draws on the collective wisdom of all the wonderful teachers who got together to create it. There’s a greater level of political and social awareness. Society treats people with disabilities in a certain way and Open Floor opens up the conversation. It feels very inclusive.”
“What I particularly appreciate about Therapy in Motion is the mix of conscious dance, movement and psychology. I don’t just want to feel my body and whatever it’s letting me know… I also want to understand what’s happening. We’re not one-dimensional beings, we need that mix of body, mind, heart, and soul. I can use the Open Floor resources to support my clients to feel more balanced in life.”
“I wanted to train in movement and to bring this new, innovative and person centered approach to mental health settings in Ireland. This approach is in with the recommendations outlined in national mental policies.
“The quality of faculty is superb. I’ve been a teacher in many arenas and this one surpasses any training I’ve done. Yes you learn how to teach this curriculum, but more importantly it prepares you to embody the role of teacher in whatever environment you find yourself inhabiting. It goes beyond the dance floor.”
