Passionate about life, I have an adventurous spirit, a creative heart, and a deep curiosity about people and human relationship. I grew up in the deep South in the United States and have continued growing up since moving to London 20 years ago. During this time, I have been fortunate to work in Advertising, the Arts, Culture, and Design. I have studied Psychology, Fine Art, Sociology, and more recently, Open Floor Movement, Mindfulness/Meditation and Relational Organisational Gestalt. Now I am coming home to myself by combining all my passions to offer something unique to individuals, businesses, and organisations…placing creativity, embodiment and relationship at the heart of all I do. I teach a regular Open Floor movement class in London called, Move Me, as well as offering workshops and events to the general public in the UK and beyond. I offer experiential workshops on embodiment, and creativity, including “Giving Presence at Work” to cutting-edge businesses and organisations interested in affecting change in work culture and beyond in an ever-shifting emergent world. I provide Embodied Presence Coaching to individuals and corporate clients, in addition to mentoring artists and practitioners of change. I believe embodiment is an essential characteristic of personal presence, and as such, it increases our ability to impact, innovate, connect, inspire, problem solve, create, and resonate with others in all all life’s situations.
Life is one’s greatest work of art. With awareness, one can discover inspiration in each moment. Imagination and the moving body are my paintbrush and canvas. This is my practice but I am no master. When two or more individuals resonate to create something together in movement, through dialogue, or through creative expression, a masterpiece can be created. Artistic expression holds so much possibility – it is where hope resides and change is born, it is where one can meet and become more of oneself. Central to my ethos as a teacher, coach, artist, and facilitator is the search for artistry in the everyday human experience. I hope to inspire others to see this artistry within and express this through the body, with words and other creative mediums. This search can be as simple as opening one’s eyes and looking deeply at another, writing one word that expresses the longing of the heart, moving towards possibility and away from habit, sensing what another might be feeling, noticing the ground beneath one’s feet, capturing beauty in a photograph, following an impulse of the heart or mind. I believe that we can live more soulful, creative lives through the practice of expressing life’s joys and sorrows in relationship through the moving body. The body is a channel for all forms of creative expression. A world where individuals mindfully take conscious steps to recognise, process and embody emotion and story with awareness, is a world where peace resides. This is part of the innate creative intelligence every human being: the ability to navigate others and situations with not only will, but grace. This is my art, my practice, and my teaching.
