I am passionate about our capacity for presence as we live our lives, as we relate to each other, in how we live – where we live, how we notice what turns us on, engages us, brings joy, intelligence and new perspectives. How we turn down the dial on how much we can tolerate at times, stay open to, conscious to…All of my life this curiosity has taken form in three main disciplines – theatre as a professional actor from an early age, the study of shamanism and studying and teaching embodiment of self through movement and movement practices
The Arts, especially cinema, documentary, dance, music and literature are windows of inspiration, thought and learning for me. As is travel, meditation, walking and my nieces and nephews.In the groups I work with I travel with topics and themes that are in some way deeply relevant to myself and what I pick up in the world around me… questions/wonders I may have. I love to create and choreograph scores and structures in which we can move, explore and risk opening up territories that may be uncomfortable – our relationship to joy, creativity, shame, prayer, sexuality, love to name but a few…I love to work with music, creating soundscapes and inspiration for people to explore within and without…I am deeply grateful to the artists, composers and musicians whom I lean into. I am part of the Art in Motion circle in Open Floor where the arts are used to embody, express and communicate our 4×4 curriculum.
