COMMON GOOD AND THE EMBODIED SOUL • JENNY MACKE

Thursday 23, 6:00 PM PDT

We focus on our capacity to be awake to essence and unbounded presence. Embodied soul refers to our capacity to be at one with our deepest sense of self, with each other, and the larger field, our surrounding environment, the natural world, and something so much greater – the vastness of existence.

COMMON GROUND: BELONGING TO THE EARTH • CAITLIN WOOD

Friday 24, 1:00 PM AEST

We have become disconnected from our natural belonging - to our bodies, to each other, to the earth, to life. It is through our body that we can feel a real felt-sense of love and connection with the living world. By practicing waking up our natural aliveness and coming home to the body we really can make a difference in our world. We will be focusing on building inner resources and connection through movement and meditation, with drawing and journalling for expansion and integration. Please bring some paper and a pen or pencil, plus a yoga mat, blanket or towel.

IF YOUR HEART COULD SPEAK, WHAT WOULD IT SAY? • SYBILLE BIEDERT

Friday 24, 5:00 PM NZST

‘The most beautiful thing you can do in this life is to show up as yourself and become fully alive.’ Practise arriving fully in all your 4 bodies (Physical, Mental, Energetic & Emotional with the four major feelings Anger, Joy, Sadness, Fear). Move with a combination of Open Floor movement practise and Possibility Management delivered by the Embodied Freedom Sybille and Jay. Once we are fully centred we will deepen our exploration of the emotional Body. The intention is to expand our range of emotional expression, with building more awareness of the intelligence and information in each of the 4 feelings: anger, sadness, fear and joy. The Emotional Body is often not seen by modern culture to be of value and yet it holds the deep wisdom of feeling. The contrast of numbness Zombie living or full expressed ecstatic Joy.

BACK TO NATURE TOGETHER • BENCE GASPAR

Friday 24, 9:00 AM CEST

We are possibly the only species on this planet that can look at itself “from outside”. This is an amazing ability, however, being outside of our bodies became the default state for most of us in our Western, globalised, digitised culture, leading to a lot of mental, physical, and emotional suffering. I believe that this goes hand in hand with the illusion that nature is “out there somewhere” and we – civilisation, culture, technology, cities – are not part of it. Stepping on an Open Floor to practice embodied mindfulness is one of the fastest ways of coming home to our bodies and senses. Over time – as we practice it on the dance floor – we start waking up more and more to every moment, and begin to live a fuller, easier, and more satisfying life. LET’S DANCE BACK TO NATURE TOGETHER!

MUSIC AS MEDECINE • HENRY FOWKES

Friday 24, 7:00 PM AEST

Music is a dear friend that draws us onto dance floors and invites us to inhabit ourselves more fully. Big bass holds us, wild rhythms rock us, tender tones stir us up, and vocals tell us just what we need to hear. In this lively and explorative session, we will bring musicality to the foreground, as a curious and creative ally in our dance practice.

THE BEAUTY OF THE MIND - IN SERVICE TO LOVE • LUCIE NEROT

Friday 24, 1:00 PM CEST

We will explore how our mind can be incredibly creative in movement, and how that dimension of our being can also have Love as a pole star. Embodied Mind is, in my experience, something quite unique to Open Floor, and a real key to deeper embodiment.

LIVING CLOSER TO THE DREAMING - AN EMBODIED APPROACH TO THERAPY • SARENA WOLFAARD

Friday 24, 4:00 PM BST

In the dance we understand that all is movement. These could be emotions, thoughts, edges, states, symptoms, processes such as fluidity or stuck-ness. All have movement or a movement quality that can provide information to live our lives more congruently. In this session we will open the door to the current moment - what is present, or not present (what we long for), flirts with us, pulls us towards, or pushes us away - exploring in movement and dance how these qualities can inform our lives and relationships.

AWAKEN: A TASTE OF 'LIBIDO FUNDAMENTALS' FOR EVERYONE • MONIKA KORSCHNER

Friday 24, 7:00 PM CEST

Libido Fundamentals is a focused Open Floor Program for an Embodied Exploration of Sexuality, Intimacy and Life Force. The Libido Programs are part of a wider range of offerings within the special interest programs of Open Floor Embodied Sexuality. From Birth to Death, We are Sexual Beings. From the first cells that evolve us into being, to the deep surrender of a last exhale, a lifespan is infused with libidic energy. Dance can awaken the potent energy of one’s libido in ways that can be electrifying while sometimes overwhelming and confusing. When this energy is acknowledged, supported and expressed authentically, the potential for healing is immense and empowering.

WILD PRAYER • CATHY RYAN

Friday 24, 8:00 PM BST

Wild Prayer – a call from the heart, through the body and mind to our wild spirit, and the source of our connection to an all encompassing sense of mystery and life force. ‘Wild; of an animal or plant living or growing in a natural environment.’ This moving body of ours is our natural environment, our heart, our mind; What is the call that runs through it? The Spirit. What clues do our longings give us? Why do our Wild Prayers matter? Our exploration will be supported by dynamic movement with a variety of music, enquiries, and simple awareness meditation practice.

AUTHENTICITY: A DANCE BETWEEN GENTLENESS AND COURAGE - AUTENTICIDAD: UNA DANZA ENTRE LA GENTILEZA Y EL CORAJE • MARISU RIMOLDI

Friday 24, 6:00 PM GMT -3

In times of uncertainty, asking and feeling what is appropriate for us is vital. Embodied doses of gentleness and courage in our everyday life, seems to be a good path to the lenguaje of authenticity. The chance to ground our roots to find our wings.

MANAAKITANGA // THE ART OF CARING • KAIA HAWKINS

IN THE HANDS OF A STRANGER • MAJERO BOUMAN

Friday 24, 9:00 PM EDT

In this session we will explore a somatic practice of connection across time and space. The past year so many of us have been trapped on line, reduced to the bit-timed body parts of our selves and others. "In the hands of a stranger," we will use the zoom platform and online environment purposely and with awareness to find and fuel moving -and feeling- together. This session is for all abilities and everyBody that has ever felt alienated in the online environment.

DANCING IN POETIC SPACE • DUNCAN GREEN

Friday 24, 8:00 PM PDT

For this fleeting 90 minute slice of time, let us move together in a poetic space of our own making. Let's use our bodies as our voice, to sing the tale of our togetherness into being. With willingness to stretch and experiment, and supported by music, sounds, prompts and spoken poems, we can find our body/homes, inhabit them and share their gifts. I look forward to our encounter!

RESISTANCE IS MY FREEDOM • LINA FREGERES

Saturday 25, 7:00 AM CEST

In my session I work with our tendency to want to get rid of resistance. We will use playful movement, explorations and vocal expression as a way to find the gold into resistance by using everything that is there, being curious and let ourselves enjoy and celebrate what arises.

S'ENRACINER DANS LA GRATITUDE - GROUNDING IN GRATITUDE • CÉCILE CHIRAT (IN FRENCH)

Saturday 25, 9:00 AM CEST

Building confidence by going back to the life mystery in our bodies, relationships with others and nature : dancing, finding a way to gratitude as a root which gives us strength for welcoming our daily life. Apporter un papier et un crayon. Have papier and one pen.

FULL-EMPTY • PAZ DIAZ

Saturday 25, 11:00 AM CEST

Inhabiting the space in which we move is to open ourselves to life. Are you aware of the space in which you move? an invitation to inhabit one's own space

COMMON SENSE AND EMOTIONAL EMBODIMENT • SARAH DAVIES

Saturday 25, 12:00 PM BST

This is part of the commons series: 1 - common ground and physical embodiment 2 - common sense and emotional embodiment 3 - common knowledge and embodied mind 4 - common good and embodied soul
Awareness of sensations is the root of embodiment. The sensations that we like, the fluttering, tingling, delightful ones as well as the clenching, hunching, and heavy ones that we probably like less. When we are willing to welcome it all we free ourselves from the exhaustion of avoidance and open ourselves to the spaciousness of being exactly as we are. As colourful, as plain, as wild or tame.

BECOMING VISIBLE • CAROL MCINERNEY

Saturday 25, 2:00 PM BST

A womb centric movement journey open to all who identify with the inner womb space. This session is designed to strengthen and support connection to this centre through movement, breathwork and enquiry. As we stay true to how we are in the moment and offer it into the dance, we can release tension and stress and relax into our authentic expression. By allowing what arises to become visible and following where it takes us, we create pathways to connect with our wisdom, wildness and compassionate nature and are encouraged to be here now, in all our beauty.

BREATH MADE VISIBLE • TAMARA ROMANIUK

Saturday 25, 5:00 PM CEST

„Just as the ancients danced to call upon the spirits in nature, we too can dance to find the spirits within ourselves that have been long buried and forgotten” – Anna Halprin I want to dedicate this session to Anna Halprin, who passed away earlier this year, and who had a huge impact on the development of conscious dance and its healing aspect through movement and art around the world. This session will combine movement, art expression and mindful conversation supported by Open Floor practice. EveryBODY is welcome. No artistic or movement skills are required. Bring yourself, paper (the largest you can) and a pencil or crayons.

DROPPING INTO THE HEART OF WHAT MATTERS: A TASTE OF THERAPY IN MOTION FOR EVERYBODY • ZUZA ENGLER

Saturday 25, 10:00 AM PDT

If you have danced once or twice you may know the power of movement to unlock the hidden places inside, yes? the shortcut it creates to what years of talk therapy may have never touched? the elegant way it offers for moving with what inside us needs attention and love? Experience the magic of direct contact with life though the cycle of open attention, embodied entry, moving exploration, and spacious settling. We will play solo and with others for a personal taste of the revelation and release that is possible in a very short time in this approach to healing.

WRITE OF PASSAGE: THE MARRIAGE OF MOVEMENT AND WRITING • LORI SALTZMAN

Saturday 25, 12 noon PDT

"All you have to do is write one true sentence." - Ernest Hemingway "Our lips can lie, but never our hips." - Kathy Altman Dancing is the fastest way to soften the muscles that keep us tightly bound, that insure we present our most polished selves to the world. In this practice we seek our messy selves, just as we are. Therein lies true expression, intimacy, laughter, tears. We'll move until the stories in our muscles release, truth trickles up the spine, limbs remember lost love. Then we'll take dictation directly from body to page. Prepare to be touched and surprised.

FROM EARTH TO THE STARS AND BACK: THE SPIRIT OF EMBODIED MOVEMENT • KATHY ALTMAN

Saturday 25, 2:00 PM PDT

"Let everything in: Both the beauty and terror" Rilke I can't imagine a person on earth who does swing from one of these feelings to the other at any given moment. Navigating news, global climate crisises, wars, refugees, pandemics all highten our activation process; often leaving little room for settling into our good fortune, whatever form it takes. In our brief time together, we will imagine, through embodied movement how to hold both the beauty and the terror, practicing fluidity hopefully without being flooded.

Open Floor served me on a deep and profound level. I want to help make the practice available to more people so they can have the experience of embodiment that I was so fortunate to have.

My work with OF, in part, made it possible for me to pursue a dream I had of starting my own practice, Heartfelt Memorials. We provide reverent and joyful end of life celebrations so that participants experience an unexpected sense of release and wholeness. We help broken hearts become whole.

Open Floor teaches me that moving my body translates directly to moving myself and my clients in fruitful directions. My clients want to stretch themselves, to experience balance and strength, to reach people and goals. I help them turn these metaphors into effective action.

I’m delighted to support Open Floor’s work to bring movement resources to people everywhere so that they can live more fully and re-humanize the work they bring to the world.
