23 – 26 September 2021
Open Floor – Open House is a global, online event that provides 48 hours of Open Floor movement practice.
This annual event showcases both leading and emerging Open Floor teachers. Sessions are offered in the spirit of Open Floor practice – they are fun and insightful.
You are invited to join us and experience mindful movement, self-discovery, and the healing power of dance
We will dance, move, connect, and grow.
This year’s Open House celebrates the launch of our newly designed Open Floor Advanced Training programs, foregrounds Open Floor Specializations, and introduces both established and emergent teachers. Open Floor curriculum opens to a rich diversity of insights and practices.
Last year we raised over $11,000 with 600 participants our Open House and we have already awarded 12 scholarships in the last year.
Funds raised this year will go towards ensuring diversity in the teacher training program, as well as helping launch our community grants program.
If you would like to join them, please let us know.
Margaret Wagner (an OF teacher, poet, and award-winning travel writer) is the founder of WRITE IN THE BEAT, workshops that pair mindful movement with written poetry and visual art. Her aim is to ignite your art with motion!
Margaret is grateful that the Open Floor curriculum provided her with resources to nurture her own self-expression, creativity, and mindfulness. With her donation, Margaret hopes OF will expand its reach to offer more people around the world the opportunity to be embodied in their daily lives.
Open Floor served me on a deep and profound level. I want to help make the practice available to more people so they can have the experience of embodiment that I was so fortunate to have.
My work with OF, in part, made it possible for me to pursue a dream I had of starting my own practice, Heartfelt Memorials. We provide reverent and joyful end of life celebrations so that participants experience an unexpected sense of release and wholeness. We help broken hearts become whole.
Open Floor teaches me that moving my body translates directly to moving myself and my clients in fruitful directions. My clients want to stretch themselves, to experience balance and strength, to reach people and goals. I help them turn these metaphors into effective action.
I’m delighted to support Open Floor’s work to bring movement resources to people everywhere so that they can live more fully and re-humanize the work they bring to the world.
We thank the anonymous sponsor who is giving in honor the new teacher training and the four “commons”:
