Music has played a huge role in my life… dancing, singing, playing, listening. When the world is a scary place music and movement have brought me in contact with myself. I didn’t know how to otherwise. Music and movement are both a way in as well as a way out.
I guess I’ve always been searching for that field ‘beyond rightdoing and wrongdoing’ to be met. By myself as well as by others. That is also what I wish to offer to my world of dancers and clients. A field that is welcoming, a field where they are met, a field of presence, a field of inclusiveness.
I’ve studied Social Work, Psychosynthesis Therapie, Holos massage and Open Floor. And for over ten years i’ve been trained in interpreting drawings and dreams by Mary Elisabeth Marlow (Virginia Beach, USA).
Over the last 25 years i’ve worked as a social worker, therapist and teacher. I’ve taught children (age 10-11) about ‘Change & Transition’ for 8 years in Islington (London) schools. I’ve facilitated as a trainer at WYSE International, a leadership programme for young adults. I’ve worked with drugaddicts, prisoners, toddlers, teenagers and adults.
I work in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, as a Psychosynthesis therapist in my own practice. As a therapist-in-motion I offer private sessions with a mixture of talking, bodywork & mindfulness. Especially interesting when you feel ‘stuck’. Or like to have more insight into a theme you’re working on.
I also offer a weekly dance opportunity ‘Monday Dance’ for those who just need to dance.
How I resource myself? I dance, sing, garden, paint, hike, photograph and play auntie for nephews and nieces.
