Rebecca Patterson Markowitz (she/they) is a PhD student studying the intersections of somatics and social justice in the geography department at UNC Chapel Hill. She is currently completing training in Somatic Experiencing and also teaches Open Floor, a dance practice based in mindfulness and felt-sense of the body.Before moving to the triangle, she taught Open Floor and facilitated spaces for embodied exploration in Tucson AZ for 5 years. She brings a playful and curious presence to her teaching and facilitation as well as lots of movement-inspiring music.
